French CHATELAINE Antique Art Nouveau IVORY Carne De BAL Aide MEMOIRE Silk Lining NOTEBOOK Necklace Pendant Filigree Crystal Beads -n-iv

From our Carnet de Bal Collection...    A very rare and special piece, an Ivory Carnet de Bal or Aide Memoire, this is the only one if its kind we have ever seen.   The front and back cover are Ivory as well as the original pencil. The book is lined in a French Blue Silk fabric, has a hidden pocket in the front, most likely for calling cards , and retains the original gilt edged paper.   The clasp is ornate incised brass.   We placed the piece on French antique filigree crystal beads and added an antique Mother of Pearl charm on the Chatelaine chain.   Beads measures 32" ; book is 2 5/8" by 1.75".   Lynn Konrad
