FRENCH Antique HOLY WATER Font Crucifix Cross W CHAMPLEVE Enamel-hwenam
We discovered this luminous C1860-1880 Napoleon III era Benetier or Holy Water Font in PARIS.
We have not seen a more a more royally designed piece.
The solid and heavy Green Alabaster or Marble plaque with multi-colored champleve enamel in Bronze or Brass with a Floral design is simply stunning; the presentation is second to none.
The Holy water font is white enameled inside.
The back is lined with Bronze or Brass and has the original ring for hanging.
The piece has quite a bit of weight to it for its size.
Please see photos for condition, there is a stable fissure near the top points of the cross, still a beasutiful piece to display with pride.
Measures 3.25" wide by 5” tall.
This would be an unrivalled piece to set the mood for France in your collection.
