This Joan of Arc piece features her in all her glory in Fine detail dressed in full armor poised in a representation of the INGRES painting of Joan of Arc at the Coronation of King Charles.
The detail of this piece is incredible.
It also states “Souvenir de la Beautification de Jeanne D’Arc Rome, 1909” with a circular presentation of “PIVX X PONT MAX.
We note no hallmarks. The piece is in very good antique condition; please see our photos for the nuances of ageing.
The patina is wonderful. Measures approx. 2” Wide and 3.5” tall, please note the easel back.
An heirloom piece in the making!
Joan of Arc was born January 6th, 1412 and was only 19 years old when she was burned at the stake in 1431. She was lead by Angel voices and brought forth her first army at the young age of 16. In her first letter to the English in March 22, 1429 she wrote, “I am sent here by God the King of Heaven.” She was canonized as a Saint on May 16th, 1920.
