FRENCH Antique BRONZE St SAINT JOAN of ARC Medal Sculpture




This RARE French Bronze piece with superb raised relief hails from C1890-1920 and was discovered just outside of Paris. This is the FIRST of its kind we have had the pleasure to encounter on countless trips to France. We are honored to be able to present this wonder here. This unique antique piece depicts Saint Joan of Arc's profile and is shown with raised letters of the important villages in her life. The reverse side has 3 crests or shields. The piece has two marks. The front is signed "G. Prunhomme" and the back has an incised "GP" at the bottom. We purchased the piece from a woman who told us her family had owned it for 50 years. It is genuine bronze and the weight substantiates this, its weighs in at 94.2 Grams. The piece is in very good antique condition; please see our photos for the nuances of ageing. The patina is wonderful. We did not try to alter the piece in any way, but left the original patina intact. Measures approx. 2.25" wide. Do Not miss out on a chance to own this remarkable piece!!
