Captured on a magnificent Wooden plaque with a beveled edge, this presentation of Saint Joan of Arc from C1920 comes complete with a Holy water font.
Her portrait is finely detailed, she is praying in her armor nestled betwwen two Fleur de Lis, (the French symbol of Royalty) and has an inscription with her name in French and P.P.N. (Priez pour nous, Pray for us, in French) We see a halo circling her head.
The piece is signed by the artist, "Raffiny".
The interesting Mélange of Materials appears to be Silverplate making up the medallion..... and the holy water font with acanthus and Berried Laurel.
Measures approximately 5.75” tall and 3 1/8" wide at the widest point.
Condition is Excellent, only the expected wear as seen on pieces of this age. The back has a Metal loop, it is ready provide a grace note on the walls of your home, or could be purchased as a unique and rare GIFT!
As a charming added bonus, the back has a hand written inscription in French, this piece was given as a First Communion Gift.
