FRENCH Bronze Watch Fob Tag FLEUR de LIS Crown ROSES Acanthus Charm CROSS Pearl Necklace-n-bzfobcrs

A very unusual remake of a Victorian piece.....

Three charms layered together, an Antique French Laurel Wreath and Watch Fob with French Cross, all cast from the original antique pieces; over a century old, these lovely reproductions are hand crafted. Two are Sterling Silver-plated ,one in solid Bronze, all aged to a wonderful old world patina.

The Repoussee Fob is totally Romantic on both sides, with the Fleur de Lis (the French symbol of Royalty)  on the one side and the reverse having a Cartouche with a Crown, Roses and Acanthus Leaves. Talk about French motifs!!

I embellished the Fob with a highly detailed Gothic inspired French Cross.

The melange is poised on an enchanting French Laurel Wreath on with Genuine White Freshwater Pearls.

Necklace is 30" Long,  (can be ordered any length), Fob is  1.5" W by 1.75" L.

Watch Fob History

A pocket watch is made to be carried in a pocket. They were the most common type of watch from their development into the 16th century. Watches were also mounted on a fob or chain; womans watches were normally this form, with a watch fob that was more decorative than protective. Chains were frequently decorated with a silver pendant, often carrying the arms of some motif, club or society, which by association also became known as a fob.

Laurel Wreath Symbolism

In common modern usage it refers to a victory. The expression "resting on one's laurels" refers to someone relying entirely on long-past successes for continued fame or recognition, where to "look to one's laurels" means to be careful of losing rank to competition. In some countries the laurel wreath is used as symbol of the masters degree.
