From our late 1800's Meerschaum Collection......
The representation of Saint Rocco (or St Roch) with his Dog is very Rare indeed, as we have never seen another one like it.
The detail of his hat, staff, dog and the Church on the left is exquisite.
The carving has a brass frame and is under a glass dome. The stone material is Meerschaum.
I mounted the piece on a C1880 gorgeous Clear Crystal Rosary with filigree bead caps.
This piece could be worn or mounted on your wall with other religious artifacts for a remarkable presentation!
I suspended the Meerschaum on an antique Mother of Pearl 3- Way medal and added two Mother of Pearl Crosses as well as an antique medal with Our Lady of Paris, patroness of France.
There is also a Black Rhinestone Cross on Highly detailed Brass.
Rosary is 32-33" total in length and the Meerschaum is 2.25" by 1 7/8" W, not counting the MOP 3 Way medal I suspended it from.
This piece can be worn long ...or as a doubled Choker for a completely different look, like having TWO necklaces in one!
This piece is a family heirloom in the making!
