A very rare find indeed, a remarkable antique C1900-1920 CHATELAINE Glass Enamel Painted Perfume Bottle with hand painted Florals....
This piece was used by ladies when visiting the market to mask the fumes in the streets, a sponge was soaked in perfume and placed inside the compact.
The lid has the original Finger ring for transporting the piece. The top of the cap has a wonderful incised floral pattern, (see photograph)
I hung it on a simple , yet elegant antique French clear faceted beads completed with smaller clear beads.
A romantic piece to adorn with pride!
Opens and closes securely, has original stopper, excellent antique condition. Can be used to hold your perfume for a quick touch-up with French flair.
Chain measures 31" in length and Perfume is 2" tall .
